[ROUND 1] Revan vs. Rufus

Revan looks around uneasily. "Well, I think I'm supposed to battle here. But where's the other guy?" Revan looks around again. "Hmm... I guess we wait..." Savage looks up at Revan feeling his master's uneasiness. "Huh? Oh right, I need to get my head in the game." Revan decides to sit down and wait for the other trainer to show up. Revan then closes his eyes and begins to Meditate. Savage plants himself next to Revan in an upright sitting position. The gentle breeze flows through the air as the scene is still.....

Goma had arrived just as his battle was scheduled to start. Quickly making his way to the stage he releases his first pokemon, Static the Pikachu. Looking at his trainer with mild curiosity the pokemon took in the surronding area before locking eyes with the opponents growlithe. Goma smirked as he eyed the opponent, this would be his first trainer battle and it was in a tournament of all places in front of a audiance. It was a good thing he wasn't stage shy otherwise he would be in a bit of trouble, but his nerves were quivering with excitement.

Revan gets up as he realizes his opponent gets up. "Ok, Savage! You're sitting this out... Go Riolu!" Revan says as his yet seen Riolu comes out of the Pokeball. "RIIIII!!!" It lets out, feeling good to be out of its Pokeball. It then looks back at Revan and nods as it sees whose voice called it from its Pokeball. "Ok, you want to make the first move?"

Watching as the opponent let out a riolu. He thought the growlithe would be first, but he was ok with pikachu starting him off. "Alright Static listen up this guys sure to be good so we gotta do our best ok?" Recieving a cry of understanding from the eletric mouse he turns his attention back to the other trainer who seems to be talking to his pokemon before asking if he would like to start things off.

"Ok I guess i'll do the honors. Static lets test the waters with quick attack!!" The mouse sped off towards his opponent hopeing to score a hit on the smaller pokemon.

"Hmm... sounds good! Riolu, use Lock On!" Riolu finds its target in seconds. "Now counter its Quick Attack with one of your own!" Riolu bolts off towards the Pikachu as the two aim towards each other quite rapidly. "Riolu jump out of Quick Attack and use Aura Sphere!" Riolu jumps up and produces a sphere of energy right at Pikachu.

Static watched as the little blue pokemon jumped into the air above and launched a sphere of blue energy. It didn't need an order to know that it should dodge. using his momentum from the quick attack he continues his path, but wasn't fast enough. The sphere seemed to move just enough to slam onto the yellow mouses tail causing some pain. "Quick before it lands hit it with quick attack and follow with scratch!!"

Turning back the mouse pokemon launches it's speeding body into the falling Riolu smashing the blue pokemon into the stage before scratching it's face and jumping off it.

Riolu gets up and squares off with the Pikachu. It seems to be only playing a game. "Ri-Rio-LU!" The Pokemon says as it finishes its phrase by releasing a sphere of energy. Another Aura Sphere! "Hey, I didn't tell you to-!" Revan's phrase is cut off as the Riolu's attack sets its course towards the Pikachu.

Goma stood thinking over their next move as the two pokemon squared off.This is gonna be troublesome. That aura sphere seems to have a mind of it's own and won't likely miss..but. As the riolu launched another Aura sphere Goma went about trying to block this attack. "Static use thunder shock on the sphere!!"

The little mouse tensed it's body and let out a cry as electricity left it's body to intercept the sphere.
As the two connected it looked as though the sphere would break through, but then it detonated and the explosion of energy pushed both the pokemon backwards.

Riolu slides back from the blast and... it's laughing! It seems to have loved the lights set off from the explosion that occurred. "Rio-rio!" Revan cries out, "Lock On!" while Riolu begins to glow again. Revan watches patiently as the Riolu is still glowing.

Static seemed to become agitated by the explosion. He seemed to be angry because this little pokemon had matched him in power with such a devistating attack. It's eyes never left the blue pokemon even when it started to glow using lock on. Goma glances at his pikachu knowing that the look on it's face ment it was angry. Good. Maybe now it will use more powerful attacks. "Static i want you to use quick attack and thunder shock, but don't stop running even though it will cost them some power." The mouse didn't need to be told twice as it launched itself towards riolu sending electricity ahead of it with thundershock.

Unrealizing why Riolu was glowing, Revan shouts, "Get out of there with Quick Attack! Move! Do something!" Riolu opens its eyes and then follows the earlier command of Lock On. It finds the Pikachu in seconds then looks down and holds up what seems to have been glowing, his fist! "Riolu!" Riolu charges forward with its fist forward. It's a Focus Punch! Riolu puts the energized fist through the electric shock and heads straight for the Pikachu.

Goma had never seen such a display before. Riolu was indeed a strong opponent as he watched the it charge forward breaking threw thundershock, ignoring the pain that was sure to run up his fist.
The punch advanced to Static's disbelief. It was going to break through his attack and that seemed to anger the little mouse even more than before. The punch connected sending him bounching against the stage, but the enraged pokemon got to it's feet swiftly Then before Goma could say a word the pokemon let out a fierce electric shock that zapped the now nonglowing riolu. the blue pokemon let out a cry of anguish, before dropping to it's knees.

Riolu, apparently being knocked to its knees, slowly drags itself up. Its head is ducked down to where no one can see its face. Riolu looks rather dark at this moment and any by standers that were watching would think even demonic looking. "Riolu! What are you doing?! Do someth-!" Revan is once again cut off as Riolu snaps its head up releasing another Aura Sphere at the Pikachu that was still right in front of it. Riolu had only wanted to play, but the enemy Pikachu had caused him harm, and Riolu was now infuriated as it released this very powerful blast at point blank to the enemy. "RIIIII!" It exclaims with malice.

Goma knew when things had gone from a friendly battle to something primal and this was one of those times. His partner had acted out in anger and overpowerd a thundershock on his opponent. He was suprised the little Riolu wasn't paralyzed, but it climbed to it's feet now just as angry as Static. The Aura sphere it threw with out orders was a bigger one than before and pikachu didn't have much chance for evaison. So instead it tried another thundershock at point blank range and as a result it exploded. Right infront of pikachu's face. It sent the yellow mouse smashing across the stage before skidding to a halt in front of Goma. He wasn't moving. Goma grabbed his pokeball to return the first time battler to his home, when he noticed his partner struggling to stand. The pikachu was hunched on all fours, ready to give it's last energy to this battle.

How could Goma deny this proud warrior a chance at a turn around victory or if not that at least an honorable defeat? So he put the ball back into his pocket and shouted his orders.
"Static i want you to use quick attack!!" With what was more than likely his last ounce of strength the mouse dashed forward towards the opponent.

"Riolu!" Revan shouted but the Pokemon just faces its opponent in anger. "At least listen to me... I am a proud supporter of anger! Believe me! But it's all for nothing if you don't hone it! Now use your anger and put it in the form of a Quick Attack!" No sooner had Revan said the words had Riolu already sprint off. It knew it had caused damage to the enemy, but it also knew that the Pikachu had worsened it by causing the explosion. Riolu still wanted to cause harm of HIS own. Riolu while sprinting uses Lock On without orders to give himself the advantage, even though the enemy Pikachu probably didn't have much energy to spare to be evasive. Riolu was out for revenge....

Static wasn't his as fast as he could be, battle damage taking it's toll on it's small body, but it was still faster on all fours than this two legged pokemon called Riolu. So while Riolu was fast enough to get it's quick attack started, but thats as far as it got before he was slammed into by the electric mouse. The blow pushed Riolu back, not to far but enough that it had to brace itself from falling. Thats when the thundershock came. It was painful, but brief. The little blue pokemon was once again brought to all fours, arms the only thing keeping it up. Across from him Pikachu was down and out the last of his energy spent on the two final attacks. Goma was proud of his partner and would be shocked if the Riolu could stand after such an assault.

Riolu didn't see the thundershock at all! It was shock, no pun intended, by the pain that enveloped its body. The Riolu had been paralyzed! If Riolu was angry before, it was now in an outrage and enveloped with hatred towards the enemy Pokemon for causing a surprising amount of pain. Riolu struggles to get on one knee and look at the enemy Pikachu. It moves slowly with a little sigh of relief knowing it had met its goal but it didn't feel it was finished fighting yet. It could move, slowly, but it could land a few hits if it tried. "Wow Riolu.. What a trooper." Revan waits for his opponent to change out.

Goma returned his Pikachu to is ball. This wasn't expected, but i would be dealt with. So he grabs the newest edition to his team, Haunter. The ghost Pokemon was out and about laughing as it looked around for his next victim.

Revan realizes there isn't much that Riolu can do but stall being a Fighting-type and paralyzed. "Riolu! Try to dart around with Quick Attack and not get hit!" Riolu begins to slowly get up while holding its side. Riolu begins a mild jog around the area darting in and out at a rather slow pace for a Quick Attack.

Goma realized that his opponents pokemon couldn't do much since the battle damage Pikachu inflicted was too great, so he ordered haunter to finish the job. "Haunter finish it with nightshade!!" Haunter's eyes glowed red as a purple aura surronded the sluggish moving Riolu and procedded to pressure the pokemon till it dropped to the ground. It fainted from the Ghost attack.

"Well, you did well.. Now it's time to end this battle... Go... VULCAN!" "GYOOO!!" The Pokemon exclaims ready to battle. "Use Quick Attack to get close and then hit it with a Wing Attack!"

Goma eyed the Pigeotto with uncertainty. This Flying pokemon maybe a problem, but he was sure he could think of a couple of ways to win. "Haunter Lets go with Shadow Ball and Night Shade!!"
Following the comman the Ghost pokemon Launched a purple sphere towards the Flying pokemon.

The two attacks don't phase the Pidgeotto. Pidgeotto goes incloses for its attack. Its wing glows ready to strike with Wing Attack.

Goma faced palmed at his mistake. Such a noob move to use ghost attacks He watched as the wing attack hit Haunter right on causing him to fly back. "OK Haunter Looks like well have to do this the hard way....So wait for your chance to strike." The Haunter realized that it's moves would be uneffective so it rose to match the flying-normal pokemon and waited.
